From Bradford, West Yorkshire, Zak Robinson has grown up with a love for music. His grandfather was a Frank Sinatra tribute artist, and Zak regularly cites him as a large inspiration in choosing to pursue a performance career. It was when the game "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock" released in 2007 that Zak discovered his love for playing the guitar.

For a brief period between 2010 and 2011, Zak enjoyed a small amount of success as the drummer and singer for local covers band "Resume Play", alongside some of his friends from school. He also began attending open mic and jam nights around West Yorkshire, where he eventually met Pete Long. In 2013, Pete asked him to join the acoustic originals group Fie! Fie! Fie!, and between 2013 to 2016, Zak contributed to their albums “Live Silo Sessions” and “Can You Hear This?”, alongside their radio single “Hit the Spanish Main”, which featured on BBC Introducing online radio.

Zak graduated from the University of Huddersfield, Campus Barnsley with a 2:1 in 2015, and is now a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Popular Music. In July 2017, David Tattersall asked Zak to perform as part of his covers band, The Undecided. Zak has since gone on to play with David on numerous occasions as part of The Undecided, alongside David’s originals project, David Luke.

In December 2018, Zak joined the indie rock covers band Indigo Charlie 7, originally as their lead guitarist and backing vocalist. However, after their previous lead singer left the group, Zak then became the band's frontman. Covering material from Nirvana, Royal Blood, The Stone Roses, Arctic Monkeys, Metallica, Billy Idol and many more, Indigo Charlie 7 have quickly become a popular inclusion to the UK music scene.

Most recently, Zak has become the guitarist of TOTO UK, the UK's only tribute group dedicated to performing the music of Toto, spanning their legendary near 45-year career.
